The Outlander Tour

Your first stop will be Cawdor Castle, this will be via the beautiful scenic coastal villages, over the Cromarty Firth, Black Isle and Moray Firth. We visit the Clava Cairns standing stones, although not the actual stones used in the filming of Outlander, they are the real standing stones of Inverness.

The tour continues to the Culloden Battlefield the site of the last pitched battle on British soil and the final resting place of many Jacobite soldiers and supporters of Bonnie Prince Charlie's claim to the throne.

After lunch you have the option to take a cruise on Loch Ness to the ruins of Urquhart Castle or alternatively there is a smaller cruise option in Drumnadrochit for a more personal cruising experience on the world famous Loch.

Continuing on to Beauly. In the Outlander books, Diana Gabaldon mentions this as the place where the Lovat Frasers are buried. There are many Frasers buried here and the Priory is a beautiful ruin to behold.

There is the option to stop at the Glen Ord Distillery. One of the most picturesque distilleries in Scotland, for a whisky tour or tasting.

The tour continues on to Rogie Falls, a stunning natural waterfall where Salmon leap. On to the Victorian Spa Village of Strathpeffer en route to Castle Leod, the seat of the clan Mackenzie and home to the Earl of Cromartie. Time permitting, the final visit of the day will be Millionaire's viewpoint on the Struie hill, looking over the Dornoch Firth with amazing views. We head back to Links House through rolling hills and farmland where you can reflect on your day walking in the footsteps of Claire and Jamie.
