In the last year Links House have developed a strong country sports programme and the new Links House website reflects the exciting country sports activities on offer at Links House.
We are very fortunate to be located in one of the great outdoor areas of western Europe and Scotland and the Highlands is renowned for its long history and tradition in rural country sports pursuits.
River Oykel – Links House have 3 exclusive weeks of salmon fishing in April, June and September on the famed Oykel river, located just 40 minutes west of Dornoch. This is a unique opportunity for those interested in wild Atlantic salmon fishing.
Autumn 2019 Shooting Stays – Links House have developed 2 shooting stays for the late summer and autumn months, with further details on the Shooting page of the website. The first is a 3 night Deer Stalking stay which offers 2 full days of Stalking Red Deer stags and the second is a 2 night stay that offers an evening duck and geese flight and a full day of driven pheasant and partridge. Both stays include dinners at the Links House restaurant, a Regional Masterclass Malt Whisky tasting and transport arrangements to and from Inverness Airport and to shooting estates.
Macnab Challenge – this modern-day sporting challenge takes its inspiration from the John Buchan novel “John Macnab”. The challenge is to catch a salmon on the fly, shoot a brace of red grouse and down a stag all in the same day. It requires military-style planning, good luck with weather and prey and an intense determination from both hunting guides and from participants, to give the best chance of success. Links House can offer the Macnab Challenge between 1 September and 20 October 2019.
Links House opening weekend – We re-open to guests on 1st April and very much look forward to welcoming you all back for another extraordinary season.
