This was the second foray south by the Links House management team, to a national awards ceremony in 2019 – it came soon after the Thistle Awards in Edinburgh in late March.
We travelled to the Scottish Hotel Awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow on Sunday 28 April, checking in to our own modest hotel which was literally a 2 minute walk from the awards venue. The aim of the event is to recognise Scotland’s most outstanding Hotels and hospitality professionals and to help consumers identify the best accommodation providers in Scotland. Selection for the 39 categories take place over a 12 month period and are a true reflection of Scotland’s thriving and ever-growing hospitality sector.
We were delighted when the name of Links House was called out for ‘Golf Hotel of the Year 2019’ – in which we managed to edge ahead of such names as Trump Turnberry and the Carnoustie Hotel. That was not it though – as a few minutes later we were again called up to receive the award for ‘Luxury Town Hotel for 2019’.
In normal circumstances it requires very little encouragement to project the Links House team towards the dance-floor – on this occasion our dance choreography, beautifully directed by Artistic Director Beata Pett (aka Head Housekeeper), would undoubtedly have netted us another award – if anyone was adjudicating!
