Phil Scott

Managing Director Phil Scott joined Links House in 2019, belonging to Aberdeen, Phil spent a number of years working in luxury hospitality in the Far East and Asia before the call of the Highlands brought him home. An enthusiastic golfer and part of the Dornoch Cricket Club, Phil loves to be outdoors and on rambles with his family. The ideal person to speak to about making the very most of your time in Dornoch and Sutherland.

Gwen Thompson

Our Financial Controller, Gwen has a history with Links House longer than most, as during childhood it was her family home. A font of knowledge, Gwen is always ready with history, facts, and stories about Links House and Dornoch too. A talented artist, you can find Gwen’s illustrations on our Links Letter.

Beata Pett

An original member of the Links House team, Beata heads our Housekeeping team with an enthusiasm for luxury and an eye for detail. When not making sure each room is absolutely perfect, you can find Beata enjoying time with her family and the joys of classical musician, Andre Rieu.

Kevin Barber

Our Head Chef at MARA and the brains behind our much-loved menus. Kevin has been a member of the Links House team since 2021. An adopted Yorkshireman and born in Germany, Kevin has developed a passion for Scottish produce, and seeks to produce dishes which celebrate our magical Highlands region.

Sarah Macleod

Our Restaurant manager, Sarah joined the team in 2022, after spending a number of years working in Scottish luxury hospitality. Originally hailing from Germany, Sarah brings a sense of efficiency and cool to our operations. An impressive forager and huge wine lover, she has close links with a number of key vineyards and can recommend the ideal and sometimes wonderfully unexpected pairings for dining at MARA.

Fraser Carruth

A much-valued member of the team, who has welcomed guests since our earliest days, Fraser can often be found in the dining room at breakfast, making sure each morning starts off in the best possible manner for guests. The Highlands have been home to Fraser for many years, and when not making sure Links House is running smoothly, you can find him with his much-loved Labradors exploring the Highlands.

Guest Relations Team

Always available to welcome a booking, or curate the ideal itinerary, there isn’t much which can phase our wonderful Reservations Team. Always on-hand in the Manse House, Fiona, Pip and Sofia can provide expert advice and guidance throughout your next visit.

Kitchen Brigade

Our Kitchen Brigade are some of the most passionate foodies you will meet. Each member brings their own ideas and enthusiasms to the kitchens daily, and under the leadership of Head Chef Kevin Barber, you’ll find a team working to celebrate the best of Scottish produce in a busy kitchen, where there is always something on the go. Working with the ethos of 4S+0, the brigade seeks to ensure each dish served is Scottish, seasonal, sustainable, and slow producing as close to zero waste as possible.

Front of House Brigade

A team which puts hospitality at the heart of its operations, our Front of House team make sure each service at MARA is truly unforgettable. With a passion for providing great service, they’re wonderfully multi-talented, and you’ll often find them performing traditional Scottish music, to great acclaim from guests.

Todd Warnock & Elizabeth Chamberlain

A huge lover and ambassador of the Scottish Highlands, Todd had been a regular visitor to Dornoch for years before he made it home. He first discovered our original Manse House in 2005 and it took until 2013 for the first guests to enjoy a stay at Links House. A keen golfer, historian and horticulturist, Todd has laterly turned his attention to developing his homestead farm, Seaview, and its formal Gardens.

Elizabeth and Lady (their much loved Labrador), made Sutherland and Seaview Farm her home in 2020. Elizabeth has been instrumental in keeping Todd on track with progress on the farm and leads the charge with beekeeping and planning the lavender field. A keen painter, Elizabeth has a penchant for interior design and has often been seen around the greens at Royal Dornoch.
