A Little More Time Together
VALENTINE’s weekend & the highland heart at Links house
February in the Highlands has a quieter kind of romance. The days begin to lengthen, evenings settle naturally into candlelight, and time feels easier to hold. At Links House Dornoch, this season is not about grand gestures. It is about thoughtful food, unhurried conversation, and being present, without distraction.
We reopen on 5 February, welcoming guests into a slower, warmer rhythm.
VALENTINE’S WEEKEND AT MARA
A set menu to share, available 13-15 February. Some evenings deserve a little more care. This Valentine’s Weekend, MARA Restaurant invites guests to enjoy an elegant three-course dinner, created to be shared and remembered. Served across three evenings, the menu begins with a chilled glass of Crémant and unfolds naturally, course by course.
Starters include Portmahomack crab bisque with fennel, dill, and chilli, or Jerusalem artichoke velouté with bay leaf and hazelnut. At the heart of the menu sits Chef’s signature Wellington, offered as both beef and beetroot, followed by a light vanilla soufflé with rose ice cream.
This is a menu designed to linger, allowing the evening to take its own pace.
Available: 13–15 February
Price: £100 per person
Pre-order required, minimum 48 hours’ notice.
THE HIGHLAND HEART
A slower kind of escape. For those who wish to stay a little longer, Highland Heart offers a gentle winter and early spring escape.
Shaped around time by the fire, considered food, and space to explore Dornoch at your own pace, it reflects what Links House does best. Walks feel more personal, the house calmer, and the days unhurried. Whether paired with Valentine’s Weekend or enjoyed on its own, Highland Heart is about presence rather than pace.
A THOUGHTFUL WAY TO VISIT
Valentine’s Weekend and Highland Heart are two expressions of the same idea: time spent well. For some, that means a single, memorable evening at MARA. For others, it means staying a little longer and letting the Highlands set the rhythm. Both are equally welcome.
If you are considering a visit in February or early spring, our team would be delighted to help shape your stay.
