Our candle-making experience with Alasdair Dickson Candle invites guests into a slower rhythm of Highland life, guided by scent, story, and traditional craft.

Hosted either in Alasdair’s studio in Dornoch or privately at Links House, the workshop introduces guests to the fundamentals of candle making. Drawing inspiration from coast, moorland, and woodland, guests select from a curated palette of Highland-inspired fragrances before hand-pouring and finishing their own candle.

Along the way, stories are shared - of light in Highland homes, of materials shaped by place, and of the quiet satisfaction that comes from creating something tangible.

Each candle is carefully packaged to take home, a small but lasting reminder of time spent in the north.

Available year-round and exclusive to Links House guests, this is an experience that pairs naturally with slower stays, winter evenings, and thoughtful escapes.
