The Anteroom

Half a Century of Hospitality, One Table, and More Than a Few Dad Jokes

There is a running joke at Links House that Head Chef Theo Creton and Master of the House Fraser Carruth have become something of a double act.

Depending on who you ask, they have been compared to everyone from Morecambe and Wise to The Chuckle Brothers. Neither comparison has been officially endorsed.

What is beyond dispute, however, is that between them they bring more than half a century of hospitality experience to The Anteroom.

And recently, they've been putting it to good use.

Around the Table

Originally conceived as an intimate private dining room, The Anteroom has quietly become one of the most sought-after experiences at Links House.

Over the past few months, the room has welcomed milestone birthdays, anniversary celebrations, golfing groups, family gatherings, and guests simply looking for a memorable evening in good company.

What makes it special is not simply the setting or even the food.

It is the feeling.

A small group gathered around a single table. No distractions. No rush. Just thoughtful hospitality, good conversation, and an evening allowed to unfold at its own pace.

Theo & Fraser

Theo guides the menu through the seasons, drawing on the exceptional produce of the Highlands and surrounding coastline, while Fraser hosts with the warmth, humour and effortless ease that many returning guests have come to know so well.

Together, they create an experience that feels less like dining out and more like being welcomed into someone's home.

Although, admittedly, most homes don't serve quite as well.

Success Brings Challenges

The popularity of The Anteroom has created one unexpected problem.

The jokes are wearing thin.

With so many guests joining us throughout the season, Theo and Fraser have recently acknowledged that parts of their repertoire may need refreshing.

Certain stories have now reached what hospitality professionals might describe as "high rotation".

Management is monitoring the situation closely.

A Seat at the Table

Whether you're celebrating a milestone birthday, gathering family and friends, hosting a golfing party, or simply looking for a memorable evening in Dornoch, The Anteroom offers a uniquely personal way to experience Links House.

Small in scale. Big in memory.
