Blog: United Airlines to offer new service between Chicago and Edinburgh

Great news for our US visitors!

United Airlines has announced a non-stop flight linking Chicago with Edinburgh, which will launch in Summer of 2014.

The flight will operate five times weekly from 23 May to 12 June, daily from 13 June to 2 September and four times weekly between 3 September and 6 October.

Flight times will be 8 hours 35 minutes westbound and 7 hours 45 minutes eastbound.

The flight will depart Chicago at 18:00, arriving in Edinburgh at 07:45 the following day.

The return flight will depart Edinburgh at 10:25, arriving in Chicago at 13:00 the same day.

Links House is a three and half hour drive from Edinburgh Airport, or a three hour train journey from Edinburgh followed by less than one hour drive on to Dornoch.

High Tea
This age-old institution, and height of indulgence, has been given a Links House gourmet makeover.

High Tea will be served on Saturday’s from the 19th of October from 3pm – 5pm and will include a glass of champagne, soup, a selection of sandwiches and, for those with a sweet tooth, a selection of homemade baking and biscuits.

Sunday Lunch
We are also pleased to introduce Links House Sunday Lunch from Sunday 20 October.

Blog: Tasting Weekend

Our first Tasting Weekend takes place on Saturday 26 October. The weekend starts with a relaxing afternoon tea in front of a roaring fire in the library, followed by a champagne reception and innovative six-course tasting menu.

The mouth-watering dishes, matched with a couple of hand-picked wines from the cellar, are inspired by the finest local and seasonal ingredients and then given Chef Darren Miranda’s unique twist.

The one night special event costs £198 per person and includes afternoon tea, a champagne reception, six-course tasting menu, luxury accommodation and a full Scottish breakfast. For those wanting to linger longer a special offer is also available for a second night: £150 per person for dinner, bed and breakfast.
