‘Bike Splash Bike’ take a night to rest at Links House

The Weston girls recently came to stay at Links House. Their story is inspirational.

Mum Sara and Daughters Georgina and Alice are taking on one of the toughest challenges in the UK. They stayed with us at Links House on their journey to John O’ Groats This is an extract from their email to us.
“After our father was diagnosed with terminal cancer last year, we decided in a crazy moment that we would cycle Land’s End to John O’Groats and swim the length of Lake Windermere to raise at least £80,000 for Caner Research UK.

Initially we had hoped that our parents would follow us as our support and play golf along the way. Sadly, our Dad died in April this year, before we were able to complete our challenge. We persuaded our Mum to cycle with us… It is actually hard to believe that we have made it this far.

Staying at Links House has been an utterly magical experience which we feel so privileged to have had. Our Dad would have loved this place. He had played golf at Royal Dornoch Golf Course many years ago and had often talked about bringing us here; knowing that we are following in his footsteps has made the time here all the more special. We can’t thank you enough for your tremendous generosity and exceedingly warm hospitality”

We wish them every success on their on-going journey.
