Royal Dornoch’s Jimmy Gunn Qualifies for US Open

Royal Dornoch’s own 34 year old Jimmy Gunn has received a last minute qualification to this weeks US Open at Chambers Bay, Washington. Jimmy, known locally for his natural swing and risk-loving swagger, won Royal Dornoch’s Club Championship 4 successive times from 2004 to 2007 as well as the revered Carnegie Shield in 2006. He caddied at Royal Dornoch for years and was our own Todd Warnock’s caddie on his first trip to Dornoch.

Jimmy moved to America in 2007 with financial support from Dornoch friends including Links House. He has been playing on the tour and finished 11th at the sectional qualifying event in Memphis, just a stroke behind the two-time US Open champion Retief Goosen. Sadly there were only 10 spots up to the US Open, but as first reserve he got the call on Sunday night from the USGA.

So Good Luck Jimmy!! Everyone at Links House is very proud of you.
