Golf Digest has just released their most recent Top 100 World Rankings and Royal Dornoch moved up one spot to #5. Royal Dornoch also ranked as the #1 Scottish course in the report. St Andrews (Old Course) #8, Muirfield #9, Turnberry #22 were the other Scottish courses in the top 25. The dominant theme of the new ranking is proximity to the sea which clearly favors our sacred Royal Dornoch. Links House is just a ten yard walk from the first tee at Royal Dornoch, so is perfectly placed! This news is doubly exciting as Royal Dornoch launches an exciting year of celebration of 400 years of Golf in Dornoch. Further the new British Airways flights from Heathow and the 2016 Scottish Open back at nearby Castle Stuart (July 7-10) portends brilliant outlook for 2016.
We recall Herbert Warren Winds words in his prescient 1964 New Yorker article titled “North to Dornoch”:
“Dornoch’s fairways are…better than the Old Course, greens are…reminiscent of those at Augusta but smaller, and layout… of the finest resourcefulness.”
So come North to Links House at Royal Dornoch, it may change your life!
